Air Operations Specialist Job in Dayton 45402, Ohio US
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately and in a timely manner plans the most economical and efficient overall group and/or charter travel routings for EIM travel programs, including managing blocked air space, securing reservations, issuing tickets and completes final billing.
- Plans and secures reservations and issues tickets using the internal and external systems for ticket reconciliation and reporting for all size groups - domestic and international.
- Ensures that all programs, contracts and inventory are appropriately set-up and managed by reviewing blocks and/or deposits to avoid underutilization or penalties.
- Calculates airfares using zone fares, excursions, negotiated coach or any other contracted fares in order to maintain client budget while maximizing commissions and overrides contracted to benefit gross profit.
- Coordinates extensions of group travel dates, air, car rental, trains, entertainment, etc., with knowledge of destination, description of penalties if applicable and competitive pricing with follow-up billing.
- Contacts participants regarding travel arrangements in a prompt and professional manner.
- Analyzes technical problems and provides positive solutions. Completes billing to individual credit cards for extensions, special requests for accurate final client billing.
- Accurately complies all air billing. Reviews all reports and tickets for accuracy prior to delivering to Travel Account Administration for mailing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Two years on-the-job training in similar work environment
- Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Superior skills required of Airline CRS System
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and Word Skills
- Completion of a certified travel school program (preferred)
- Ability to remain organized and professional in a very busy environment
