Alternative Delivery Counsel
Job Description AECOM is seeking an Alternative Delivery Counsel to assist in the analysis, structuring and documentation of alternative delivery projects. The position will be located in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City or other mutually agreeable AECOM office location. Travel may be required. The Alternative Delivery Counsel will have at least 10 years of prior legal experience. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior management of AECOM s operations team and AECOM s Legal Department, and must have extensive experience in the following areas: Drafting, review and negotiation of design services and related contracts, particularly in a design/build, design/construct and related project delivery modalities Structuring of joint ventures and other project specific entities Finance and structuring of public private partnership projects General contract law, particularly as applied in the design services and construction industries General familiarity with Federal government contracting principles, including FAR and DFAR Effective risk management and mitigation Advice and counsel of business clients regarding project execution issues Supervision of outside counsel as necessary. At least three years of previous in-house experience and experience in the A/E or construction industry are strongly preferred Other attributes: Strong communication (both written and oral) and organizational skills Ability to balance competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines Ability to identify legal and business risks and business perspective Ability to interact effectively with colleagues Self starter with ability to work independently Good mentoring/management skills Strong computer skills including facility with Microsoft Office applications. Other qualifications: Must have a juris doctor degree (or equivalent) and be admitted to practice and in good standing with the bar of at least one state. About the Legal Department The successful candidate will report to the Assistant General Counsel for Contracts and Commercial Transactions, William Garrett.
