Position Description:
The Legal and Compliance Department's UK AML Group, which is based in London, is charged with day-to-day oversight and coordination of the AML and Sanctions Program covering all businesses including Institutional Sales and Trading, Private Wealth Management Business, Investment Banking and Investment Management across the EMEA region. A need has arisen for an individual to provide support to the existing AML team.

The candidate will report to the Deputy Head of AML for the EMEA region and will be a part of a ten member team.

The candidate will have a good understanding of the various aspects of an AML/Sanctions program including but not limited to:
• Know Your Customer (KYC) and Client Identification Program (CIP).
• Enhanced Due Diligence for higher risk customers and intermediaries including Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs).
• Suspicious activity monitoring and reporting.
• Economic and trade sanctions including OFAC.

The candidate will have a solid understanding of the Third EU Money Laundering Directive and a good understanding of the AML Laws and regulations in the UK, Luxembourg and Ireland.

As part of the day-to-day responsibilities, the candidate will:
• Perform client identification and verification on the institutional customer base which would primarily include Pension Funds, Mutual Funds, Other retirement plans and Central Banks.
• Conduct enhanced due diligence on high risk clients and obtain sign off from the business and management on all high risk clients.
• Review negative media alerts from RDC for high risk clients.
• Review and investigate alerts from the transaction monitoring system and provide a disposition.
• Update AML policies and procedures periodically based on changes to the regulatory environment.
• Implement new or enhance existing AML processes and controls.
• Provide AML and Sanctions training to the business as appropriate.
• Assist with other ad-hoc tasks required by the Head of EMEA AML.

Skills Required:
• Previous, strong AML/KYC Business As Usual AML Compliance knowledge is required within financial services.
• Enhancement and implementation of AML policies, procedures, processes and internal controls.
• Strong understanding/experience of the various elements of an AML/Sanctions Program.
• Experience of multiple stakeholder management at mid-senior management level, including stakeholders from the business as well as third party organisations.
• Experience with the investment management/funds industry would be beneficial.
• Strong business writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work well under pressure during tight deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Degree educated or equivalent.
