AML Transaction Monitoring Officer / Investment Banking recruitment

Our client, a global financial institution is looking for an AML Monitoring Officer to join their AML and Financial Crime team. The individual will help to enhance and improve the transaction monitoring processes and establish long term and consistent solutions across the whole firm.

Duties Include:

• Monitor and identify transactions that are unusual in relation to client's business, trading strategy and financials.

• Identify transactions that suggest issues in relation to money laundering or terrorist financing.

• Investigate unusual or suspicious transactions, liaising with both the front office and other AML team members.

• Ensure that effective systems and processes are in place for staff to monitor transactions and account activities.

• Provide support to business in complying with all new and changing regulations and laws, as well as the company policies and standards.

• Manage, coordinate and deliver appropriate training programmes to ensure staff members are sufficiently trained to apply and administer Anti Money Laundering and sanctions related controls in their day-to-day business activities.

• Compile reports on monitoring process and investigations into transactions, including preparation of monthly Management Information

• Ensure that effective systems and processes are in place to detect activity that potentially breaches sanctions laws, regulations or policies and are dealt with effectively and in a timely manner.

The preferred candidate will ideally have experience and training in AML and/or Financial Crime background with good knowledge of transaction monitoring and automated transaction monitoring systems. You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels to staff and management in the UK and Abroad.
