Analyst

Responsible for conducting investigations and analysis of wholesale market outcomes and participant behavior. Responsible for planning, coordinating and conducting wholesale market studies using a production cost simulation model.

Job Requirements:
Curiosity.
Excellent investigative and analysis skills. At least five years experience conducting forensic-like investigations of market outcomes and participant behavior using data-analysis tools and methods.
Experience developing large data set analysis tools using SAS and/or the Oracle Business Intelligence suite.
At least two years experience modeling power markets and analyzing outcomes using a production cost simulation model.
Experience with PowerGEM’s PROBE model is a plus.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate complicated topics and analysis to non-technical audiences.
Experience working in a team environment and meeting daily, weekly and monthly deadlines Knowledge of wholesale power markets and of the tariffs, regulations and statutes that govern participation in the New England market.

Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or Engineering. An advanced degree in one of the above listed disciplines is preferred.
