Application Support Analyst 4
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership during all phases (Inception, Design, Development, Test, Deployment) of project development.
- Coordinate the above listed project phases from start to conclusion.
- Work with backup and Database Administrators on restore and recovery procedures.
- Act as team lead to make sure the day to day support operations like monitoring, job activity, system performance, and customer inquiries are handled efficiently.
- Lead/Coach fellow Analysts in technology aspect and best practices in the Business Intelligence realm to further the teams continued technical growth and advancement.
- Monitor industry trends identifying potential opportunities or improvements or all things BI related.
- Establish and maintain standards, policies and processes that make up a top tier Application Support team/organization.
- Participate in design and application review sessions of current production systems for data quality or performance enhancements.
- Guide team members on troubleshooting methods and data validation procedures.
- Expert in UNIX, SQL, ETL and front end reporting applications, installation/migration, backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, trouble shooting, code optimization, capacity planning.
- Provide expert knowledge on Business Intelligence applications.
- No technical guidance required.

Functional/Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge in a Teradata, Business Objects XI, and Informatica environment.
- High degree of skill with ETL load utilities such as mload, fastload, tpt, tpump, relational and flat file data delivery.
- Very good knowledge of scheduling and job prioritization for a high demand 24/7 Business Intelligence organization.
- Advanced installation and configuration experience with Weblogic and/or Informatica.
- Ability to write, debug and tune sql and pl/sql, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.
- Experience with Teradata V2r6, 12, 13.
- Experience with Informatica 8 and 9
- Solid experience with the Unix/LINUX operating system and command set as well as competence with shell scripting
- Thorough knowledge of job, profile and group prioritization through Teradata Active System Management.
- Experience with load balancing and big IP technology.
Experience:
- Five to ten years in an ETL Support or Analyst position.
- Three to Five years experience with Teradata, Business Objects XI, and Informatica
- Experience in a large, 24x7 environment
- Experience with multi-terabyte platforms
- Experience with BAC and HP Openview
- Experience with telephony billing systems and related applications a big plus
Education/Vocational Training:
- A four year degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
