Position Description

Group Description: Reporting Strategic Analysis is part of the Global Risk Analysis team within Morgan Stanley Investment Management ("MSIM").  Specifically, Reporting Strategic Analysis is responsible for:
• Developing divisional-level presentations, reporting and analysis for senior divisional and Firm management;
• Overseeing the New Product Approval and Seed Capital funding and repatriation processes;
• Coordinating cross functionally within MSIM to help plan, execute and measure the division's strategy and operating plans; and
• Performing competitive and industry analysis in support of senior management, corporate and board reporting.

Roles Responsibilities:
• New Product Approvals:  Involvement in the day to day management of MSIM's New Product Approval ("NPA") process:
• Ensure training of MSIM professionals regarding the NPA process
• Coordinate New Product Committee meetings and sign-offs of quorum members via the NPA web tool
• Oversee production of monthly NPA activity report
• Participate in cross-divisional initiatives regarding enhancements to the NPA process and web tool
• Reporting: Manage production of selected weekly, monthly and quarterly division-level presentations for the COO and Head of MSIM covering topics including:
• Financial performance
• Investment performance
• Principal investments and seed capital
• Governance: Manage maintenance of and ongoing enhancements to the MSIM Governance Committee Framework, including:
• Management of and continuing updates to the MSIM Governance Website
• Management of the annual review of the MSIM Governance Committee Framework
• Ad-hoc projects: The role will include work on ad-hoc projects with the Global Head of Risk Analysis, the COO of MSIM and Firm Strategy Execution with regard to various topics which may include (among other things):
• Regulatory mandates
• Balance sheet/capital management
• Business strategy

Skills Required

Required Skills:
• Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Self starter who is able to work independently, tackling complex problems with limited guidance
• Experience developing presentations and analysis for senior-level external or internal audiences (with minimal guidance)
• Highly developed inter-personal skills
• 2-3 years experience in Financial Services, ideally some of that within an asset management business
