Business Unit Overview:
The European Equities team manages a full range of equity strategies that span the risk/return spectrum, along with several targeted opportunities in specific market sectors. BlackRock has more than 40 investment teams—consisting of portfolio managers, research analysts and traders—manage style-specific portfolios built on BlackRock company research in each major equity asset class.
Job Purpose/Background:
This is a Vice President level hire and candidates are required to have experience in European Equities either buy or sell side
Key Responsibilities:
- Working within team research process to provide stock recommendations to PM’s for agreed sectors.
- Generate positive Long and long/short performance within agreed sectors
- Achieve in-depth knowledge of industry dynamics on agreed sectors

Knowledge/Experience:
- 2-6 years equity research experience, ideally in European equities
- Detailed knowledge and experience in building proprietary investment models at a company level
- Perfect command of various equity valuation techniques
- Strong track record in stock picking. Ideally within pan-European equities
Skills/Qualifications:
- Degree qualification
- Ideally relevant professional qualifications
Competencies:
- Ability to work within a close, integrated team
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated and ability to take own initiative
- Financial analyst skillset – financial modeling, valuation techniques
- Computing skills tailored to investment management: Advanced Excel, Bloomberg, etc.
