Analyst, Portfolio Analytics

 

The Role

You will be responsible for collating and analysing data, inputting this data into systems, running and analysing reports. You will play a pivotal role in thecreation and maintenance of the processes and systems used to produce performance reporting and portfolio analysis.

The role will require the individual to become an expert in the performance and risk analysis area, develop technical expertise and contribute to the work of the portfolio analytics team.

You will gain exposure across all asset classes in a multi-manager environment, with an unusually high focus on the alternative asset classes: hedge funds, private equity, real estate, commodities and currency derivatives.

The role will require excellent quantitative, analytical, technical and interpersonal skills as the role will cross all areas of the analytics and investment teams.

This is an entry-level position and, subject to aptitude and performance over a number of years, offers a variety of paths for future progression.

Main Responsibilities

• Day to day responsibility for updating various monitoring and performance systems with accounting and economic data; running reports and analysing the results.

• Utilising these various systems to answer and provide analysis for ad-hoc queries.

• Design proprietary databases and create front-end systems for use within the portfolio analytics team.

• Lead or take part in projects within the portfolio analytics team and the wider investment team.

Candidate Key Attributes

• Recent graduate of a top university in a scientific or technical subject; minimum 2(i) or higher.

• An analytical individual who is keen to learn from the bottom-up and make the most of a broad based role.

• Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products, and experienceof creating and querying SQL databases.

• Candidates should be able to demonstrate an interest in the financial markets.

• Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
