Analyst, Product Information

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for creating and maintaining product information such as items with attributes and bills of material in computer systems. Analyzes bill of material structure for accuracy and completeness in accordance with product standards, procedures, and engineering requirements.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manipulate and analyze large volumes of tabulated data in Excel using complex formulas to construct and setup new items and bills of material (BOM) in Oracle, RS6000 and/or AS400 ERP system depending on product line.
• Apply judgment to corrections to determine if overnight refresh is appropriate or if need to request immediate refresh.
• Analyze engineering drawings or excel part listings provided by managers to generate discrete BOM listings.
• Modify and run queries to support various research or inquiries.
• Analyze query results to monitor integrity of BOM and new items setup in the system(s).
• Research/troubleshoot change requests or error notifications received for modification, validation and/or creation in system.
• Proactively make changes to BOM based on research from non-related change requests.
• Provide data creation and troubleshooting support for new product development process and manufacturing.
• Leverage technology such as macro recorders to increase efficiency in data entry and corrections.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems or related field.
• 2 years prior Bill of Material experience or similar analytical root/cause work experience.
• Ability to manipulate large volumes of data in Excel using complex formulas with a high accuracy rating, and strong attention to detail.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
• Demonstrated successful ability to prioritize and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities.
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal customers.
• Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Prior ERP experience (Oracle).
• Prior SQL or equivalent query writing experience.
• Familiarity with the cabinet industry and product.
• Manufacturing supply chain experience.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
