Analyst, Prophet Development recruitment
The jobholder is to help to develop and maintain deterministic and stochastic Prophet models and data conversion system (DCS) for the region. He/she is required to ensure proper documentation and control in place for the Prophet systems as well as act as a service provider to the region by providing timely Prophet model development support. The jobholder is also responsible for assisting ad-hoc projects such as the development of the Centralised Actuarial Modelling Platform.
Responsibilities:
1.Assist in carrying out development for Prophet models and data conversion system (DCS) for the region:
- Implement Prophet model modification as requested by end users in a timely manner with proper control in place
- Produce parallel Excel model for cashflow reconciliation or other checks to give confidence in reasonableness of Prophet results
- Ensure work in line with best practice in Prophet development to ensure efficiency and consistency in variable naming, coding and model structure
2.Provide support in preparing financial information for the valuation production process:
- Ensure proper documentation of procedures and methodology for all work carried out
- Work flexibly to meet deadlines where maintaining high quality standards
- Provide technical solutions to problems arising with Excel spreadsheets, Prophet coding, Access queries and other actuarial tools
- Work independently to analyse data and provide meaningful conclusions
3.Provide support for local teams and other business units:
- Support ad hoc projects for local actuarial teams and regional centre according to needs/priorities
- Actively communicate with end users to ensure model development comply with specifications agreed
Requirements:
- University graduate - major in Actuarial Science / Mathematics / Statistics
- Preferably passed at least 2 actuarial exam papers
- Good command of both written and spoken English
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent knowledge of spreadsheets, database, other PC languages and modelling skills
