Analyst – Structured Finance recruitment

Responsibilities

The Role:
The analyst's job is one of assigning ratings, writing research and managing relationships with key external constituents. It also involves establishing effective relationships internally and contributing to the overall success of the team in meeting its targets. The primary targets may change from year to year but will generally always involve the key responsibilities detailed below.

Responsibilities:
Ratings Quality and Transparency
- Assign accurate, consistent and timely ratings.
- Apply strong credit judgment and Moody's methodologies. Perform cashflow modeling and review operating documents.
- Present transactions effectively and comprehensively to rating committees and other internal analytical meetings.
- The rationale for ratings - and changes to them ' should be transparent, consistent with Moody's methodologies and globally comparable.

Research Timeliness and Quality
- Identify and write accurate, insightful and relevant credit research of the highest quality. Deliver research that is of high quality and timely.

Market Outreach
- Participate in external outreach such as seminars, conferences and one-on-one meetings.
- Return investor and other external market participants queries promptly and to a high standard. Engage in meetings with investors, intermediaries or others on a one on one basis as requested or otherwise seen as valuable.

Team Development
- Working with others in your team to help them be as capable, efficient and motivated as possible. This will involve regular coaching and mentoring of junior staff such as Associates. Actively contributing to a culture that is supportive is a key attribute.

Cross group cooperation
- Seeking to encourage cross group collaboration to further the organizations goals

Efficient and effective processes
- Ensuring that you are a) compliant with Moody's minimum standards b) as efficient in meeting its goals as possible

Special Projects
- Undertake special projects as requested.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law Economics, Statistics, Maths or other relevant discipline.
- Up to 5 years experience within capital markets, working within a professional accounting firm, law firm or financial institution is essential
- Understanding of Capital markets including asset backed, residential and commercial mortgage backed securities
- Highly numerate with strong financial analysis, cash flow and modeling skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must display initiative and the ability to work independently
- Must display strong organizational, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
