Analytics Director
- The Analytics Director will perform two main activities:
- Performance tracking and forecasting, that means:
- On a regular basis, monitor the business performance of Marketplaces Germany and discuss it in meetings with the relevant leadership teams. Performance metrics will include financial metrics (e.g. revenue, take rate) and site metrics (visits, conversation rates) cross-cut by key segments (e.g. buyers/sellers; product category)
- Combine a good understanding of internal country trends and initiatives with the external market perspective in order to explain the drivers of variances vs. expectations
- Work with business and finance leads to forecast future performance
- The second major task will be to develop actionable insights to enable key decisions
- Lead analytics projects that provide actionable insights into long-term trends and deep-level drivers of business performance, enabling data-driven decision making
- Partner with business units to challenge their thinking, provide direction, and become a trusted adviser and impartial counsel
- Technical work will include:
- Pulling data from the data warehouse (SQL or SAS based)
- Excel modelling
- Ad hoc deep dives into business results
- Assessment/ scoping of early stage concepts
- Managing A/B tests (evaluating concept effectiveness) - scoping, results interpretation, deep dive into results plus liaising with the Prague/US technical centres to ensure smooth running of tests delivery standard read-outs
- Help the BU prioritize analytical deliverables (there is always greater demand than supply)
- Report, analyse and provide key insights on the impact of strategic initiatives in particular
- Extract, analyse and collate data from a variety of sources to create both regular and ad hoc reporting for senior German management
- Provide performance measurement and insight into key business drivers
- Always walk in the customers' shoes and use the site
