Wells Fargo Audit Services (WFAS) is looking for an individual to provide technical audit coverage of quantitative models in the company. This individual will be a subject matter expert leading the daily operations and support the audit coverage approach with the quantitative audit team.
This highly visible position provides a unique opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the risk management of models across the company, in market, credit, and operational risk. The individual will also play an instrumental role in the audit of the models involved in the calculation of the Basel capital.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing review and critical input on model publications and processes.
- Maintaining relationships with Lines of Business and Corporate model developers, validators and risk managers.
- Providing expert guidance and support on model questions and audit procedures to WFAS staff and business partners.
- Providing leadership and credibility in the challenge of modeling practices in the company, including performing replication analyses with data mining and coding.
- Championing opportunities and recommendations for process improvement.
- Occasional travel expected (quarterly on average depending on needs).
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years' reporting and analytical experience and 1+ years management experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters degree in quantitative discipline such as finance, math, economics, statistics, physics or engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in risk management or similar role in the financial services industry with a mix of business and analytical background.
- Knowledge of a broad range of financial products (securities and credit).
- Development and implementation experience of various modeling techniques with diversified range of computer and programming skills.
- Demonstrated persuasion, negotiation or influencing skills.
Preferred Skills:
- PhD preferred.
- Even though no frequent programming is to be expected, hands-on experience in any of C/C++, Matlab, SAS, SQL, Perl, Unix, shell scripting is a definite plus.
