Application Architect San Diego, CA Essential Job Functions The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation. 1. Determines and develops architectural approaches and solutions, conducts business reviews, documents current systems and develops recommendations of how to proceed with the applications 2. Ensures success of enterprise-level application rollouts including but not limited to Oracle and Peoplesoft systems 3. Evaluates existing or proposed systems for the business, and devises computer systems and related procedures to solve the business need 4. Devises or modifies procedures to solve problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results 5. Oversees the team that analyzes, develops, installs, tests and modifies complex enterprise-wide applications using high level languages. 6. Coordinates third-party relationship with outsourced team and vendors for applications and troubleshoots problems with department users and administrators 7. Responsible for quality assurance review of assigned projects and the evaluation and documentation of team procedures Other Duties and Responsibilities 1. Performs professional level analysis, evaluation or research applying basic concepts, practices, theories of areas within information systems. 2. Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of information systems, Frequently uses and applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Nature of Supervision: Works under general supervision. Acts independently and as part of a team. Planning and Problem Solving: Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Assignments and/or projects can be varied and moderately complex. Impact: Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources. Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory or lead responsibilities. Education/Experience: Requires a BA or equivalent combination of education and related experience; 2 or more years progressively responsible professional experience in function. Specific experience with JDA Point of Sale (POS) or other retail POS software is required. Work Environment: Typically the incumbent will be in an office setting seated, in artificial light and working for prolonged periods of time on the computer. Less frequent inter-organizational team contacts on routine matters.
