Community Health Systems Professional Services Corporation seeks a Regional Health Informatics and Information Management Director for its Franklin, TN, headquarters? Health Informatics and Information Management team. The Regional Health Informatics and Information Management Director (RHIIMD) is responsible for coordinating HIIM services across the multi-facility integrated healthcare system. The RHIIMD will assist in implementing and supporting all corporate HIIM activities. The Director will provide support to CHS-affiliated Health Information Management (HIM) Departments for department operations, reimbursement opportunities, various program implementations, and HIM-specific system installations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Performs hospital site visits to assess the efficiency of the HIIM Departments? operations and to recommend process changes where opportunities for improvement exist. Also performs assessments to determine preparedness for electronic systems implementations. · Provides direction to the health information management functions for CHS-affiliated facilities. · Assists in deploying and providing ongoing support of health information management systems as part of the CHS-affiliated facility?s overall information system plan. · Monitors health information management systems and sets the HIIM Department?s standards for data quality and ethical practice. · Participates in the development of health information management policies and procedures on release of information, confidentiality, information security, information storage and retrieval, and record retention. · Enforces and provides education and training to CHS-affiliated facility employees in areas relevant to health information management policies and procedures. · Supports and facilitates clinical, administrative, and external data use functions. · Monitors and provides information on local, national, and international trends, changes in legislation and accreditation standards that affect the management of health information and healthcare industry. · Serves as an internal consultant on health information management issues including release of information, confidentiality, information security, information storage and retrieval, and record retention, as well as authorship and authentication of health record documentation. · Performs and reports research on topics related to health information management. · Provides orientation and education for HIIM staff at newly acquired facilities or for new HIIM Directors at existing CHS-affiliated facilities. · Functions as the primary contact for division for HIIM Departments in division-specific states. · Provides on-going support and monitoring of the CHS Patient Health Information Improvement Program (PHIIP). · Coordinates with other corporate staff to support CHS-affiliated facilities in a congruent fashion. · Monitors and provides information on regulatory changes to all CHS-affiliated facility HIIM Departments in a timely manner. · Plans, develops and presents educational opportunities on regulatory issues, charging processes, and other HIIM-related areas via teleconference or onsite presentation. · Coordinates CHS-affiliated facility HIIM Department functions with the clinical operations departments within the hospital to ensure efficient and effective processes. · Compiles monthly activity / project summaries and reports to division leadership. · Completes other duties, as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Based in Franklin, Tennessee. Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time. Travel required by both airplane and automobile.
