Qualifications:

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for developing and supporting software systems to improve productivity and support RD strategy. Responsibilities include design and development of internal applications and user interfaces, data analysis and reporting, user support and training, and routine system administration for local and multi-site RD software applications.

• 60% Works with internal customers to define design specifications for applications with special emphasis on user-centered design. Writes, tests, and revises specifications. Develops, tests, debugs, and maintains code.

• 10% Provides data analysis and reporting services for applications.

• 15% Supports 3rd party applications as assigned.

• 15% Provides training for applications.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Strong communication skills and outstanding ability to interact with users at all levels of computer expertise.
• Technical expertise in relational database design, efficient coding abilities, and a record of preparing thorough documentation.
• Demonstrated excellence in user-centered design, interface prototyping, and usability testing.
• Experience designing secure applications and developing apps for mobile devices.
• Not required but knowledge of Livelink, Jive, and/or SampleManager a plus.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering.
• 4+ years experience programming in a Windows environment.
• Experience with ASP, Visual Basic .Net, J2EE, SQL, Object Oriented Programming (C and C# a plus)
• Experience with SQL Server, MS Access, and MS IIS administration (Oracle a plus)
