Our client is a leader in the publishing industry, they are searching for a technical analyst who understands how to pull data from digital libraries, and how to ensure the process of pulling that data runs smoothly and most efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem solving skills with prior experience in scripting and programming languages, in-depth knowledge of rich text markup languages such as XML or SGML and experience working in a technical capacity such as data or software development, programming, a technical publishing operations capacity or technical support.
The position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze publisher content packaging structure
- Create and execute shell scripts, data base queries and reports
- Create and maintain tools required by Content Processing System using regular expressions
- Test packaging and transform tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems discovered during automated processing or manual inspection
- Create, update or maintain user documentation
- Mentor and train junior QC and support staff in problem resolution and inspection related activities
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-3 years hands-on experience working in a technical capacity
- In-depth knowledge of rich text markup languages such as SGML or XML
- Familiarity with UNIX commands, shell scripts and Perl scripting
- Extensive experience in testing and inspecting complex textual data
- Familiarity with content management and workflow systems
- Excellent organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail, a proven track record of meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Plus
- Working knowledge of Documentum
- Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Query
- Familiarity with Regular Expressions
- Background in publishing industry
