My client is a fast growing and highly successful firm that produces a leading multi-asset class trading platform (FX / Derivatives / Futures Options / Equities / Fixed Income / Foreign Exchange / ForEx) used across top-tier global investment banks, Hedge Funds and other leading trading firms.
They urgently require an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Support Analyst / Application Support / Support Engineer candidate to be a part of their future growth success.
The successful Support Analyst / Application Support / Support Engineer (Fixed Income, Derivatives, Futures Options) will be joining a fast-growing and highly dynamic team based in the heart of the City, London. The role includes huge levels of client interaction engagement - other responsibilities include:
- Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line application support to traders in the global financial markets
- Bridge the gap between IT and the business users of the clients
- Engage with new clients to bring trading system platforms online
- Produce high-level documentation to back-up support issues and to provide 'library' resources for common issues
- Detailing business system requirements and transferring that information to the technical development team
This is a very hands-on Support / Application Support / 1st Line Support role that will see you utilise your existing technical skills and will see you build substantial business knowledge in the Financial Markets (including huge growth of business level knowledge in Equities, Derivatives, Futures Options) - you will be given substantial access to traders in this market and will be discussing both their technical business needs.
To be considered, Support Analyst / Application Support / Support Engineer applicants must have the following essential skills:
- Minimum of 2 years directly supporting trading systems in the financial services industry (ideally 3rd party trading platforms e.g. Fidessa, Trayport, FFastfill, Stellar, Paladyne, Imagine, TT, 360T etc)
- Technical knowledge around Linux / UNIX and some working experience of Linux tools (e.g. Bash, vi, grep etc)
- Some Financial / Capital Markets knowledge (around Derivatives, Equities, Futures Options etc)
- The ability to engage with both business IT professionals
- Exceptional communication skills and a first class telephone manner
You will be a motivated self-starter able to manage your own workload take responsibility for the issues you are working on.
