Application Support Analyst (Server Side Applications) Jobs, USA

‒ Applying upgrades and service packs to the implemented vendor software, applications and working through any technical issues that arise in the process.
‒ System administration, installation of the software
‒ Identifying upgrade needs, and interfacing directly with the application owners and relevant development teams
‒ Build, operate and maintain Microsoft clusters hosting a variety of third-party financial and reporting applications
‒ Maintain significant knowledge of Windows Server 2003 and 2008 R2 platforms
‒ Architect and install applications to facilitate a full range of DR testing activities and understand the requirements business-defined RPO and RTO
‒ Fully understand enterprise subnets, routing and associated network environment. Abide by best practices when architecting and building Windows systems
‒ Interface directly with backup administration team to ensure that all applications are correctly backed up and validated on a recurring basis
‒ Support VMWare-based systems in a large, shared enterprise environment
‒ Support and troubleshoot a variety of IIS, Apache, and native server applications
‒ Maintain a significant knowledge of the underlying operating system and application tuning best-practices
‒ Analyzing incident requests, diagnosis and root cause determination for resolution
‒ Provide end-to-end support for all Windows-based servers. Must be able to effectively troubleshoot a wide variety of application, software, database, and network related issues
‒ Perform all maintenance and troubleshooting of software issues on various applications, while interfacing with appropriate vendors, as needed
‒ Effectively troubleshoot various latency, bottlenecks, and other performance-based problems
‒ Interface with business owners, systems administrators, network administrators, and appropriate venders in local or remote physical locations to cooperatively resolve issues and complete projects

‒ Extensive experience supporting and maintaining Windows server environments for large organizations within investment and/or financial services industry (banks, prime brokerage companies, trading firms)
‒ Extensive hands-on experience and deep knowledge of the Windows operating system and application software
‒ Must demonstrate an ability and interest in having a hands-on technical approach to the server administration function
‒ Must have an ability to work on multiple concurrent projects, prioritize accordingly, and follow-thru to completion
‒ Technical experience with systems analysis, design, and/or programming
‒ Proven experience managing processes and operations an enterprise environment
‒ Candidates must be professional, service oriented, articulate, able to explain technical matters in a clear and concise manner, patient, and must have a genuine interest in proactively helping others in their technical matters
‒ Citrix server, Windows-based client-server applications in an enterprise networked environment
‒ General understanding of Active Directory, role-based security, and group policy management. Fully understand, configure, and troubleshoot database connectivity to multiple platforms including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Sybase
‒ MS Office, common business tools (Adobe, IE, etc.)
‒ Strong written and oral communication skills
‒ Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills
‒ Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
‒ Solid work ethic, self-driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision
‒ Candidate must be willing to work in Wilton, CT and travel to Manhattan
