My client is seeking to recruit a business / application support specialist to strengthen the Business Support team of its London-based institutional asset management arm,

Mission

To provide application support to the front, middle and back office on a range banking of applications used globally.

Responsibilities

*To provide business and technical application support on core systems and workflows for Portfolio Management, Order Management and Portfolio Accounting

*Acquire knowledge of any newly implemented applications or processes to enable the provision of effective technical and business user support

*Provide training and coaching to employees on the core systems

*Perform non regression requirements testing on core systems

*Work alongside users to develop relationships, understand their needs and deliver on their needs

*Taking part in documentation and other team administration activities

*Take part in group projects

Profile

*At least 5 years experience working in the banking or Asset Management sector

*Relevant experience in providing application support to the front, middle and back office

oSpecifically: Fixed Income Trading

*Understanding of financial instruments: Fixed Income, Derivatives, Equities FX

*Knowledge of trading tools: Bloomberg, Charles River, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, FXALL

*Understanding of the FIX Protocol

*Understand core business processes, for example the trade lifecycle from order creation to settlement

*Ability to recognise and escalate problems to management / 3rd level support as appropriate

*Understanding of Windows, UNIX, SQL and Oracle - Including strong database querying skills

*Competent in all Microsoft Office applications

*Must have a client orientated approach, and capable to work under pressure

*Accurate, punctual and high level of problem solving and analytical skills

*Flexible to travel when requested

As the successful candidate, you have the ability to be autonomous, to take ownership of tasks and to prioritise work. Under the direct supervision of the Head of Business support, you will act as an interface between users and the IT teams and will maintain close contact with users to understand their actual needs. You will demonstrate professionalism and courtesy at all times and your excellent communication skills will allow you to liaise at all levels of the company.
