Application Support Manager / Project Manager / Service Delivery – Fund Management

My client is a world renowned, high class and industry leading Fund Manager who specialise in Long-only trading strategies, that require an Application Support Manager with Project Management / Service Delivery  skills and experience within a previous Fund Management environment, to head up it’s very reputable and highly regarded Global Application / Production Support team.

This is a Global role, with the candidate expected to manage the off-shore Support function, oversee and Project Manage Application migration and upgrades (Oracle 10g to 11g, and UNIX). In addition, you will be expected to coordinate Production incidents, liaise and work closely with the business and key stakeholders, DBA teams and front-end teams. You will improve SLA’s through automating SLA’s and provide day-to-day SLA Management.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Application / Production Support Management experience

• Project Management experience in relation to Application / Infrastructure upgrades (i.e. Oracle and UNIX)

• Asset Management / Investment Management / Fund Management / Hedge Fund background

• Business-facing and stakeholder management experience

• ITIL

• Pragmatic, straight-to-the-point and direct approach to work, with the ability to write up summaries on a single sheet of A4 paper.

• Calm but firm nature

• Understanding of the trade lifecycle

• Have credibility and ability to stand up to Development and Infrastructure teams and have in-depth technical discussions on technologies such as UNIX and Oracle

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) due to the nature of the role

• 2:1 Degree or above from a Top University would  be a huge advantage
