Applications Engineer Meter Control Responsibilities: Assist customers, sales representatives, and application engineers in applying SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telecommunications contact. Define customer needs and lead efforts to prepare innovative and cost-effective methods to meet them using distribution products and services. Prepare technical proposals and commercial bids. Maintain an in-depth understanding of distribution monitoring, automation, and control applications, competition, and markets. Analyze competitor products and prepare technical product comparison reports. Participate in industry technical meetings, standards committees and conferences to represent SEL interests and identify key technical requirements for product planning. Write application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets. Create product marketing information including datasheets, flyers, advertisements, sales kits, and product presentations. Manage customer database for customer sales and application information. Contribute to product specifications, application guides, technical papers, testing, software, and literature. Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering Minimum two years work experience with electrical distribution power systems and automation. Good knowledge of system integration and automation applications, including applicable communication protocols and communication technologies. Experience in technical marketing and/or sales Excellent technical presentation, speaking and writing skills Willing to travel 25% Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Preferred Qualifications: Experience using SEL products SEL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
