OPPORTUNITY WITH GLOBALLY-RESPECTED PANASONIC TECHNICAL SALES SUPPORT TEAM: Applications Engineer
Panasonic Electric Works of America is looking for an Applications Engineer to support our Automation Solutions Division. Panasonic sells a range of motion control products including PLCs, HMIs, and servos as well as automation sensors, providing total factory automation solutions. This position utilizes technical skills to provide full-range factory automation technical product support to our field sales team, distributors and customers in the western (mostly US) region.
- Pre-sales and post-sales applications support at customer location and via phone and email
- On-site and remote trouble-shooting
- Technical product demonstrations
- Partner with our internal support teams and external sales channel partners to offer:
- project solutions,
- system conversions,
- consultations on customer developed solutions, and
- instruction for product training classes to help create the best customer experience.
Minimum Qualifications Include:
- 3 years technical experience in an electronics-related industry, with factory automation product knowledge and external customer contact preferred;
- 2 year engineering/technical or other related degree or equivalent technical product work history;
- An understanding of automation controls products (PLC, HMI, and Servo) in order to provide in-depth knowledge in pre-sales and post-sales roles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, esp. strong Word and Excel ability.
Also necessary:

- Ability to work independently and as a creative team contributor;
- Detailed, analytical multi-tasking follow-through;
- Strong written, verbal and phone communication and dynamic presentation skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a contributing team member.
~65% local region travel and ~35% overnight domestic travel expected.
