An experienced IT professional is now required to take up the newly created role of Application Services Manager, with responsibility for managing the team of 8, providing application support of core business systems in the banking division including: treasury, property lending , human resources and the SAP general ledger.
The appointee will build good working relationships with application vendors, managing day to day contact to ensure a high level of service, will maintain schedules for applications maintenance and ensure plans are executed to include project planning of upgrades, test planning, issue logging and resolution and rollout. A key requirement for the role is to implement an ITIL based applications service, supporting the business in embedding processes and procedures in a very fast paced and changing environment.
Ideal candidates will have experience in application services management and support within financial services, with experience of the ITIL based service management framework. Experience of SAP/GL or a leading GL solution, MS Dynamics, Numara Footprints for helpdesk management would be useful, as would knowledge of any of leading treasury management systems. Experience in the use of MS Office applications including Visio and Project will also be needed.
The role requires a highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem solving. A people manager, with a persuasive and consistent approach to liaising with colleagues and suppliers, you will need to be highly numerate and analytical; able to introduce structure and prioritise resources and initiatives.
