Eaton Corporation in Galesburg, Michigan has an opening for an APQP Specialist.

The APQP Specialist will act as a core team member on PROLaunch New Product Development and Standard Transition Process teams with strong product knowledge of electronic components. Complete all project deliverables assigned to the Quality function, including standard AIAG Advanced Product Quality Planning documents. Ensure AIAG requirements for Advanced Product Quality Planning are met on new products and current products.

Essential Functions:
Core team member on PROLaunch NPD and STP teams with an added specific focus on electronic component applications.
Complete APQP Deliverables as assigned on each NPD or STP team, including the following examples: Special Characteristics determination, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, Customer Notification, Assembly PPAP, PSW to Customer, Early Production Containment.

Act as the quality APQP specialist lead on electronic component and software application projects and continuous improvement activities.

Act as the representative of the entire Quality function on the PROLaunch NPD and STP teams, Functionally direct additional quality resources only as required to support the projects: Supplier Quality Engineers, Customer Quality Support, Region Quality Manager, Plant Quality Manager and Engineers, etc.

Lead cross-functional teams on projects to improve the APQP compliance on current products, across multiple manufacturing plants. Examples include Special Characteristic capability improvement, standardization of methods for APQP documents, such as PFMEA and Control Plans, or standardization on approaches, such as MSA and PPAP.

Occasionally lead cross-functional teams to contain and resolve high-impact and highly visible quality escapes that have design or launch root causes. This may include working with the Roadranger Field Marketing organization and coordinating complex containment activities across multiple global regions, customers, dealers, and fleets.

Participate as a QMS Fresh Eyes auditor each year

Complete six sigma projects, aligned with other goals, with benefits quantified, each year.
Ability to influence without direct authority
Ability to work collaboratively across divisions, groups and diverse teams
Requirement to travel extensively at times support global operations

Position Criteria:
• Machined Component Product knowledge
• Manufacturing process knowledge
• Understanding of statistical tools and analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ)
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

• BS Degree (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality)from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in either manufacturing function or quality function
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Galesburg, MI
