MANAGING ARCHITECT
ETC Building Design, Inc. a well established company specializing in the design and construction of health care and life science facilities. We are seeking a highly motivated Managing Architect to support our business development team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, have excellent verbal written communication skills and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
GENERAL SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for managing all aspects and phases of a design project using planning, monitoring, designing, and personnel management processes. The managing architect will be responsible for the oversight of the design department staff and may be responsible for the oversight of more than one project at a time. Following is a brief description of the principal duties and responsibilities:
· Maintains awareness in project teams to align all decisions with the company
· Link between project and company goals and expectations in daily operations
· Oversees the structure, budget, processes, and procedures of assigned projects
· Manages and coordinates all design department project operations.
· Establishes policies, defines operational objectives, and identifies priorities for the design department.
· Works with senior management team on departmental budget planning
· Client Management
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:
· A Bachelor’s of Architecture degree is the minimum formal education required for this position
· California Architectural License and OSHPD experience required
· Twelve or more years experience in design CAD/REVIT construction documentation, project delivery or equivalent in the design-build industry required with five or more years experience in healthcare design project/team management with projects of $25M (individual project or combined total) in value
· Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Internet, etc.) required
· Specific software literacy (current versions of Revit, ACAD, Sketchup, Microsoft Project) required
· Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign preferred, but not required
· LEED for Healthcare credential is preferred
· Must be willing to travel
