We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to implement company strategies and policies to meet planned sales objectives in the New England Area (Connecticut, Rhode Island).  Develop and execute territory-level strategies and tactics to retain current customer bases/market share, to regain lost business, and to prospect for new business in target markets.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.      Execute corporate strategies and programs to achieve assigned sales and profit objectives.

 

2.      Develop and implement territory-level strategies and tactics to obtain new business, retain current business, and regain lost business as well as to maximize product sales and market share.

 

3.      Assist distributors in developing product sales knowledge and sales approaches that will enable them to effectively sell our products in their markets.  Provide product training and technical assistance to Sales, Service, and Applications employees to enable them to understand and serve customer needs.

 

4.      Use Field Force Automation tools to report on market and competitive activity in a timely and accurate manner.

 

5.      Assist with various national and regional trade shows and events to assist the organization in representing our products and services to customers and prospects.

 

6.      Consult with customers and provide them with guidance and recommendations on plastic and machinery applications and packaging problems to assist them in making effective packaging decisions as well as help them solve non-standard customer problems.

 

7.      Submit required paperwork and sales reports on a timely basis to ensure efficient sales operations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field with 3-5 years sales experience.
  2. Ability to analyze and interpret customer needs as well as formulate and recommend solutions in a consultative manner
  3. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication
  4. Knowledge of the flexible packaging market is a plus
  5. Ability for travel (10-15%) to cover the assigned territory of Connecticut and Rhode Island.
