Position Description:
Under the direction of the Director of Visual, and using the standards and guidelines set forth by the Corporate Visual Department, the Area Visual Manager is responsible for creating a dynamic shopping environment which incorporates fashion trend statements, visual presentations and promotional events to support the sale of full priced merchandise and the overall profitability of the store. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the District Manager and Merchandise Team Manager to set directives, train and maintain the visual standards for merchandise presentation, coach existing and new associates on company floor standards for appropriate visual presentation and placement of merchandise. The Area Visual Manager is responsible for interpreting and implementing Corporate visual directives, working with the input of the District Manager to ensure that they are executed effectively in the store location.
Primary Goals
Visual Merchandising
- Creates an enticing visual presentation that attracts customers, encourages shopper interest and drives sales.
- Partners with Director of Visual and District Manager to interpret and customize visual direction.
- Works with Merchandise Team members to optimize visual presentation, ensuring adherence to corporate visual standards
- Creates and prepares visual collateral
- Monitors overall store environment as it relates to the customer experience and ensures that concerns are appropriately elevated for resolution.
Merchandising and Selling Floor Operations
- Sets visual floor standard for the store, train and coaching Merchandise Team members and Selling and Service associates as to the appropriate merchandise placement and presentation.
- Overseeing merchandise placement on the selling floor
- Directing and assisting in merchandise shops set up, holiday installation, supervising floor moves
Events
- Planning and coordinating planning, execution and recovery with Store leadership and Marketing Director to maximize corporate and local events, both in store and at off site locations.
Expense Control
- Maintaining visual budget, demonstrating fiscal responsibility and sound decision making in execution of visual initiatives.

Qualifications:
- 2- 4 year degree preferred Fashion Merchandising or Fine Arts concentration a plus
Ability to work with multiple stores to grow the store teams’ sense of style and knowledge of fashion trends. - Ability to lift and carry 25+ pounds, climb ladders, operate equipment efficiently and in accordance with safety regulations, work with substances such as paint, glue gun etc.
5+ years of related visual experience in positions of increasing responsibility. - Experience in event planning, art exhibition or installation a plus.
- Portfolio or examples of previous work samples desired.
