Major Hedge Fund is looking for an exceptionally talented individual to join their team as an Asian Trader. The trader will take on multiple responsibilities, including trading, trading strategy implementation, and execution optimization. Candidates should be ambitious and enthusiastic about implementing new ideas and possess the ability to work both individually and in a team setting.
The team is responsible for efficient trade execution of the funds investment strategies. The team is comprised of traders, trading assistants, trading infrastructure and trading algorithm developers as well as market microstructure and short term signal researchers.
The team designs and develops algorithmic trading methodologies in many asset classes globally. They also performs transaction cost analysis on the many markets that the firm trades in which is utilized in building transaction cost forecasting models for their investment strategies.
ROLE
The Trading function consists of executing trades in the Asian markets, trading all products including, but not limited to: equities, futures, currencies, interest rate swaps, etc. Developing relationships with the various counterparties are crucial to maintaining and improving liquidity for the funds. The Trader will work with the strategy research and portfolio management teams to uncover information relevant to the trading strategies and risk management of the funds. Additionally, the Trader’s role would include monitoring and working to improve their electronic algorithmic trading systems for equities, futures and currencies. Responsibilities would include working with the development team in defining new features/capabilities. The hours are 4pm to 2am, Sunday through Thursday.
REQUIREMENTS
? 2+ years of experience in an execution trading role including some electronic and/or OTC trading experience
? A bachelors and/or masters degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Finance or a related field with strong GPA
? Well-organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills in both verbal and written form
? Hard working and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, collaborative environment
? Basic SQL knowledge, C++ and/or JAVA programming experience, scripting knowledge (All preferred, but not required)
