Fixed Income Investment Liaison
The Fixed Income Investment Liaison (FI IL) works directly with Investment Staff (Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Specialists, and Research Analysts) to provide them with a variety of investment information and data relating to the T. Rowe Price International portfolios. All data used in the Portfolio Managers’ decision-making process and/or presented in investment kits used for client meetings, is checked and verified by the IL to mitigate investment risk.
The Investment Liaison maintains a strong command of the Portfolio Manager's investment philosophy, strategies and products they represent in addition to a solid understanding of the business and teams/areas within it. This is achieved through regular contact with the Portfolio Manager(s) (and the extended investment team), attending strategy meetings, studying investment guidelines, reviewing marketing kits and materials and producing investment packs.
PRINICIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain charts, spreadsheets and ‘investment packs’ containing portfolio and/or market data for use by the PMs and Portfolio Specialists in the investment decision-making process and in presentation materials. Perform regular reviews of such materials in order to improve efficiencies.
- Evaluate PMs’ needs and requests for new reports, investigate systems capabilities and develop optimum solutions.
- Attend strategy meetings.
- Perform in-depth analysis and research
- Represent the Portfolio Manager by acting as the single point of contact for operational matters
- Use market and strategy knowledge and official source systems to review presentation materials such as kits, fund factsheets, quarterly reviews and Board of Directors reports.
- Manage strategy specific Composite models, adhering to Global Investment Practices Standard (GIPS) requirements and standards.
- Develop strong working relationships with key internal departments; manage FI projects and initiatives to facilitate decisions in operational matters related to investment strategy.
- Negotiate, advocate and influence with all internal departments across the firm. Acting as a conduit between the investment team and their key clients and colleagues.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of Fixed Income investment concepts and the ability to communicate a working knowledge of investment strategies and products gained through work experience within a financial services organisation.
- Advanced Excel skills (including Macro development experience).
- Demonstrable analytical nature including an aptitude for problem solving/troubleshooting
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with prior experience of successfully working with various different stakeholder teams in a complex, matrix environment.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Solid relationship building and customer service orientation, with a proven ability to work with clients/customers in difficult situations.
- Experience in using market data services (e.g. Bloomberg, Wilshire Axiom, Barclays Point, Morgan Markets, Business Objects).
- Degree educated along with relevant work experience gained within an Investment Management firm and/or graduate calibre with significant, demonstrable related experience.
