Fitch Ratings is seeking an Associate Director or Director to join the Asset-Backed Securities Group in New York. This person will assume a lead role in rating auto asset-backed transactions, developing criteria, market commentary and related research, and will serve as a senior credit committee member in reviewing and assigning ratings to ABS transactions.

This person will assume a lead role in rating auto asset-backed transactions, developing criteria, market commentary and related research, and will serve as a senior credit committee member in reviewing and assigning ratings to ABS transactions.
Responsibilities:
• Analyzing critical credit, legal and structural elements of asset-backed transaction structures
• Preparing and presenting analysis to a rating committee
• Leading transaction discussions with bankers and issuers

• Communicating Fitch rating methodology and criteria to issuers and investors
• Producing quality internal and external written reports including credit committees, criteria, special reports and market commentary
Modeling cash flow priority and structures
• Leading and/or supporting research projects
• Participating in internal and external meetings
• Maintaining assigned rating relationships
Required Qualifications:
Candidate must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the credit, legal and structural risks of transactions in the ABS sector. Candidate must also demonstrate experience in staff management, including the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork.
Some travel required. Candidates should have at least 7 years experience in ABS structured finance or related field. Graduate degree is helpful but not required. The position requires strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to work with Excel, Word and financial data.
