The Role
THIS IS A 12 MONTH MATERNITY COVER CONTRACT
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant and working within a finance team of 13, your role will be to accurately process revenues for the Group, maintain Finance processes and support in monthly deliverables. Specifically your role includes:
- A third of the role is assisting the Senior Financial Accountant in monthly preparation of balance sheet work papers and account reconciliation's for Group entities, focusing on accruals prepayments, fixed assets, bank reconciliation's, debtors and control accounts.
- You will operate billing systems and procedures and maintain receivables ledger, investigating incidence of receivables delay and invoice queries arising from customers.
- You will prepare weekly bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies and prepare and post monthly pension accrual journals for all companies based on input from HR.
- You will ensure funds are available for an overseas office and also payroll.
- You will reconcile monthly billing figures and also prepare national statistics.
- The role also includes account Settlement Accounting; monitoring Core System File Download into the General Ledger (GL) and also End of Day GL: balances; reviewing Bank Reconciliation's; analysing GL Manual Entries; Manage FX Rates Control; ensuring that any balances arising are clearly accounted, reported and escalated to operations and risk management where appropriate.
- You will also prepare UK and Swiss VAT returns and reconcile accounts
Who they are looking for
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be a "hands on" part or a fully qualified accountant with a flexible attitude and;
- Have banking payments reconciliations and foreign currency transactions experience and;
- Have UK BACS procedures knowledge and;
- Have previous experience of month end work
You must be able to "hit the ground running " to support the month end process. You must be very hands on and able to work as a member of a small team where cover for other team members is important. So flexibility is the key. You must also have strong interpersonal skills in order to interact with different people within the finance department and around the business. It is desirable to have had previous accounts receivable and billing experience.
