Established internet company is seeking an energetic Assistant Controller for a high-growth accounting finance team. This position will be responsible for monthly preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement reporting, development of internal controls and business processes, and managing the company's debt facility, cash forecasting and daily cash management.
What you need:
- Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, economics or business
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in private company and Big 4 accounting firm
- Experience with ASC 718 (formerly FAS 123R)
- Experience with SOX 404 highly preferred
- Expert with Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and preferably SQL
- Must be a detail-oriented, team player with proven success working in a fast-paced, fluid environment, and possess high level of technical skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal written, including technical accounting documentation
What you'll be doing - You will:
- Manage all components of the General Ledger, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliation, monthly closes, quarterly closes and year-end audits, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance
- Partner with business managers from the various product lines to solve financial issues
- Research and analyze on accounting policies to ensure they are properly and consistently applied across the company
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and other reports for review by Controller CFO
- Prepare and update internal control and process documentation
- Assist in the implementation of internal control procedures and changes
- Manage annual financial statement audit and process
- Work on special projects, including business combinations
- Manage 401(k) audit and compliance
- Stock Option management and accounting
- Cash / treasury management, including managing debt facility, daily cash movements and cash forecasting
