Assistant Director, FI Portfolio Management
As the Assistant Director you will support the Director with managing complex portfolios and assist in early identification of under performing assets. You’ll be required to prepare high quality credit submissions and regular reports responsible for ensuring MI and analysis are in order to track financial performance of clients.
To succeed in this varied and challenging role you’ll need to:
- Support the Director, Portfolio Management to sustain and develop existing risk management practices for complex clients to include developing and delivering comprehensive credit appetite statements in conjunction with Client Coverage and in agreement with credit
- Assist Portfolio Director in managing debt refinance and new facility requirements for an existing client base.
- Effectively manage the hand over process of new connections from Client Coverage/Structured Finance and subsequently develop a strong understanding of customer needs within the corporate marketplace (enhancing CSS scores)
- Maximise income for RBS Group
- Help ensure the credit quality of the portfolio is maintained in conjunction with Director, Portfolio Management and Client Coverage
- Responsible for ensuring receipt of MI and monitoring/analysis in order to track financial performance of clients
- Ensure information in commonly used databases / systems remains current and up to date
- Assist with relevant credit stewardship tasks for complex clients as directed, including responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of data quality.
- Complete routine and complex credit reports, analysing, interpreting and summarising customer data.
- Build understanding of credit stewardship (relating to complex clients)
- Compose / draft routine correspondence at the request of the Portfolio Director
- Pro-active contact with the customer, maintaining high levels of customer service standards.
Experience:
- Risk assessment, monitoring and control skills with an understanding of restructuring techniques
- Good understanding of business, credit and financial risk analysis
- Ability to write clear and concise credit papers for complex cases
- Ability to manage high volumes of work in an orderly manner and meet tight deadlines
- Developing inter-personal skills and the ability to establish good relationships both internally and externally
- Proven financial modelling skills
- Consideration to working towards a professional qualification
