Full Job Description

Assistant Financial Controller within the Group functions of a large Retail business required due to a maternity cover. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance the Interim Financial Controller will have end to end responsibility for the production of Group and Company management and statutory accounts, responsibility for controlling spend and management of cash within the Group's wholly-owned operations, and full responsibility for payroll.
The role will involve supporting the team responsible for reconciling the cashbooks for the wholly-owned operations of the Group, maintaining the AP and AR ledgers, posting month-end journals and producing Company balance sheet schedules and accounting for the Group?s holding and property companies.

You will be a qualified accountant with strong experience4 of consolidating Group accounts , producing financial statements for the annual report and interim management statements. As part of the role is overseeing company management accounts including the preparation of sensitive areas of the accounts (payroll and the production of management information packs for budget holders) you will have a high level of integrity and have excellent attention to detail. You will be comfortable with specific and necessary processes, ensuring these are adhered to as required. You will work with Director of Treasury to ensure adequate funds are available to meet the business's day to day needs and ensuring returns are maximised on excess funds whilst coordinating budget processes, liaising with auditors, reviewing and submitting the Group VAT returns.

You must be a confident communicator who can deal with Directors and internal stakeholders with ease. You must be 2 years PQE minimum and able to commit for 12 months.
