Assistant Financial / Fund Accountant

Based within Central London, this medium sized service provider to the private equity industry is looking for a part qualified accountant for their rapidly expanding offices. The company itself is a well known name in the glittering world of private equity and is expanding at a truly phenomenal rate. Their finance team is now well over 80 people and these roles are down to new client wins and representative of yet more organic growth.

Their core business consists of producing accounts for private equity firms which allows for an interesting and varied training ground for part qualified accountants. Your responsibilities would involve assisting a qualified accountant with the compiling of financial, fund and investor reports for several private equity funds which would include monthly/quarterly/yearly financial reporting, dealing with investor queries, handling distributions and drawdowns and being able to liaise with external parties such as auditors. It is anticipated that you will eventually become an accountant in your own right and take over your own portfolio of funds and manage the full relationship with your clients.

Past experience has shown that people coming from accountancy practice or similar financial reporting roles in commerce or financial services have worked best at this level and often progress the fastest. Due to the nature of the role, you'll need to be capable of producing a full financial statement.
