Assistant Motor Underwriter

Full Job Description

Provision of underwriting support for all motor products and to all business areas across all sites

- Action renewal reviews on a daily basis to ensure appropriate terms are applied.
- Help resolve day to day underwriting queries and referrals from operations and claims departments in line with acceptance criteria and the underwriting philosophy, referring more complex cases to the Motor Underwriter
- Help with the processing of underwriting audits and monitoring of referrals and overrides to ensure risk control measures and underwriting criteria are being adhered to.
- Help maintain the underwriting and process guides to ensure data is current and accurate.
- Investigate complaints relating to underwriting issues.
- Undertake analysis of competitor products and prices to provide accurate information for reporting purposes.
- Action referrals made by the Fraud Prevention team
- Participate in the handling of police enquiries
- Action late notified claims
- Participate in project work

The successful candidate would be:
- Technical motor insurance experience in an insurance company or broker
- Authorised to use Delegated Authority.
- PC literate particularly in Word and Excel.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Self motivated with proactive approach.
- Clarity of thought and expression.
- High literacy and numeric ability
