This national organisation is embarking on an exciting growth period and as a result of a recent realignment there is a need to appoint an Assistant Treasurer. The treasury team is responsible for managing and controlling the liquidity and financial risks of the group both in Australia and Overseas. The role requires a commercially astute leader who can take accountability for group treasury outcomes whilst being able to influence at a senior level.
Reporting to the Group Treasurer, you will manage and control $1.3bln structured debt facilities of the group, and provide detailed analysis and support to aid business decision making. The role will have a strong strategic component and will work with the CFO to develop and execute new business strategies and initiatives.
Specifically; you will be responsible for:
• Actively managing the financial and liquidity positions of the group to ensure all requirements under AFSL License are met
• General oversight of Treasury related exposures including Operational Policies and procedures
• Cash control and investment
• Origination work including deal structuring and pitch presentation
• FX exposure management and dealing
• Develop and deploy ALM Capability
• Monitor and maintain the groups interest rate hedging within prescribed policy guidelines
• Develop and deploy funding/hedging programmes and strategies
• Assist with new business initiatives across the Group
• Mentor and lead Treasury staff
You will be a commercially astute and experienced (8+ years) treasury markets professional who has a demonstrated track record of leadership. Critical to this background will be your in-depth understanding of structured finance, capital markets and or corporate banking principles, gained within banking, finance or a financial services provider. With +five years experience in a securitization environment in a Treasury Manager or Senior Treasury Analyst role, you will be Tertiary qualified in Economics, Accounting or a Business related degree have undertaken relevant and recognised RG 146 training.
You will possess expert Excel and Access database skills with a high level of numerical and problem solving capability, and the ability to interpret raw data to generate meaningful summary information.
