Assistant Vice-President: Financial Resources recruitment

Under the guidance of the Vice-President Finance Administration the Assistant Vice-President: Financial Resources (AVP) is responsible for the financial management of the University and the leadership of the Financial Resources department.  The AVP’s scope of responsibility includes, operating and ancillary budget plans, financial reporting, cash management and treasury services, endowment funds, research accounting, accounts payable, business office, and the functional management of the University’s Financial Systems.

The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with a minimum of five plus years post designation experience in a senior finance or accounting position in the broader public sector, preferably in a university setting and within a unionized environment. S/he will possess a recognized accounting designation (e.g. CA, CGA, or CMA), or equivalent and have a proven track record of successfully aligning financial systems and processes to meet the strategic needs of the organization. A collaborative leadership style and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
