Our Manhattan based licensing company is looking for an Associate Planner. This person will be working closely with the Sales and Production teams as well as upper management to assess the market to facilitate inventory buys. Buying/planning/merchandising experience is a requirement; experience with accessories, hard goods, small leather goods, and items of that nature is a major plus. Extensive Wal-Mart, Target and/or Burlington Coat Factory experience preferred. Salary BOE $45-55K. Job Description
- Partners with CEO, VP of Sales for Mass Market Accounts, and Production to place inventory buys
- Recap and analyze sales results weekly
- Communicate financial results, forecasts and action plans to Planning Director and VP of Mass Market Accounts
- Coordinate with VP of Mass Market Accounts and Production and Operations teams to ensure we communicate current and future inventory availability to our retail accounts
- Forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
- Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by department and program
- Reviews current open orders status and inventory issues with the Operation team in Bi-weekly meetings and supports follow-up to the meeting
- Requests orders based off of preseason plans from Mass Market Accounts and or submits orders depending on program type
- Evaluates transmitted orders to insure accuracy and manages committed and non committed inventory levels
- Manage Assistant Planner’s daily tasks and re-prioritizes when needed
Job Requirements
- Strong retail math skills
- Extremely detail oriented and analytical, data input with high accuracy rate
- Excel proficiency a must
- Access not required although a plus
- Proactive and positive attitude
- Superior problem solving and issues management experience.
- Ability to work with people at all levels of an organization.
