About the role
Our Enforcement Financial Crime divisionbrings disciplinary and civil cases, and criminal prosecutions on behalf of the FCA, whilecoordinating our overall efforts to reduce financial crime.Our cases attract large-scale media attention and help to protect investors and consumers.
To help us make these cases a success, we are looking to add more Forensic Investigators to our team. As part of the Retail departments, you will investigate and bring regulatory action against regulated firms who engage with consumers, such as retail banks, stockbrokers and mortgage brokers. You will investigate a range of cases from misselling, financial promotion issues to anti-bribery and control failings. We also take action against firms who breach our Threshold Conditions to enable the FCA to vary and/or cancel the permissions of firms. This means you’ll get to work on a challenging and varied portfolio of work, and gain an in-depth insight into regulated industries and relevant legislation.
About you
We are looking for Forensic Investigators with a background in any relevant discipline, including regulatory enforcement, forensic investigation or forensic accountancy. Wherever you’ve gained your expertise, it’s imperative that you can analyse complex evidence in order to form a view as to what action is warranted, what further evidence may be required and how it might be obtained. You’ll be able to draw on good communication skills, a thorough approach and plenty of self-motivation. A strong academic record is also important, along with the ability to work closely with a range of contacts and build working relationships.
