An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and proactive person to join the Gateway team as an Associate Adviser.
In this telephone based advice and service role, your key focus will be to support MLC Direct with projects such as Engage, SEB Simple Super. Critical to the role will be establishing clients needs, wants, goals and objectives, assessing their current situation, promoting the need for financial advice and providing an appropriate solution such as General advice, Execution only services or refer through to either a Limited Adviser or Financial Planner for specific advice.
This role is vital in delivering a great advice experience to build an ongoing relationship with clients so as to service their future advice needs, whilst increasing the retention of funds under management within the Plum Personal Plan and generating sales and revenue for Group products.
In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Proactively contacting existing and new MLC, Plum WLN clients to create advice opportunities and promote the advice services available
- Provide general advice and promote the value of personal financial planning advice to all clients so as to identify referral opportunities for limited personal advice or comprehensive financial planning advice
- Develop a good understanding of different adviser businesses on the panel and generate suitably qualified referrals for the advisers that match their business.
- Receiving inbound calls from the MLC and Plum call centres where new or existing customers require general advice
- Participate in project initiatives to find ways to deliver a better and more efficient advice service to clients
- Provide execution only services to clients who do not qualify for or require comprehensive Financial Planning including sending applications, insurance quotes to clients, assisting them with the underwriting process and organising to set up their policies with MLC
- Prepare and send new application packs to new and existing clients
- Following up and assisting clients in completion of application forms over the phone
- Coordinating the establishment of policies with MLC underwriting and admin teams
- Provide feedback and coaching to the Gateway team on process improvements, data integrity and auditing results
- Maintain knowledge of regulations and legislation to ensure all general advice provided to clients is compliant
- Maintain a letter of authority including ongoing education and compliance with FSRA.
To apply, you must be eligible to hold a Letter of Authority (RG146 compliant) and possess solid understanding of financial services and financial planning processes including but not limited to: Superannuation, Pension Investment products, Insurance products and Plum and MLC products and platforms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as the role requires the ability to influence clients to understand the value of advice through an outbound call and identifying the appropriate advice outcome for each client through effective questioning and understanding of the client's situation.
With strong attention to detail, time management skills and the ability to identify and own the resolution of problems, you will be able to demonstrate an up to date knowledge of industry related trends and legislative changes including technical knowledge of financial planning, platforms, products and strategies. You must be fully competent with PC based applications and general computer skills and knowledge of MLC and Plum systems is preferred.
