Associate, Analyst, QA recruitment
Department overview:
A sell-side service that provides market makers in OTC derivatives with consensus based prices to check their trading book valuations. The service encompasses the equity, interest rate, currency, commodity, credit, property and bond markets, providing matrices of vanilla prices and a wide selection of exotic products.
Position summary:
A full time position has become available for a QA analyst in our London offices.
The successful candidate will be tasked with developing test case coverage across the multiple applications delivering the otem business.
Duties accountabilities
- The successful applicant will take full end-to-end lifecycle responsibility for Quality Assurance and Testing activities in:
- Developing test coverage across legacy systems
- Supporting delivery of various new service provisions within Totem
- Supporting delivery of enhancements to existing services
- BAU and maintenance support work.
- Including:
- Developing test plans, approach, details and scripts.
- Maintaining all test artefacts in the HP ALM / Quality Centre repository.
- Test Execution – taking the lead in the execution of functional and non-functional test activity including upward management reporting and stakeholder liaison.
- Test Planning – review and creation of test plans, identification of test cases and the creation of test scripts packs.
- Adding to and championing best practice methodology with respect to testing and Quality Assurance within Markit.
- Reviewing business requirements and associated design documentation.
- Attending appropriate meetings to ensure a sound understanding of developments prior to testing.
- Running manual tests on software ensuring it conforms to design and set standards.
- Raising and resolving any issues / faults identified.
- Manage risk and take contingency action where necessary.
- Identify and develop improvements to the testing process
- The most important quality to be shown by the successful applicant is the ability to deliver, and an understanding of how this is achieved in a project context.
Business competencies
Education and experience
- Experience of project lifecycle and theory of Testing
- Experience of working in a global business, with global development, QA and infrastructure teams
- Experience of both functional and non-functional test definition/build/execution/delivery.
- Experience of working in the financial sector would be an advantage, in particular knowledge of derivatives however this is not explicitly required for the role.
- A solid degree in a computing, mathematics or finance would be highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience of testing applications developed in MS Access and
- Excel would be highly desirable.
- Knowledge of HP Quality Centre/ALM is required.
- Understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications would be advantageous.
