The Role / Responsibilities

To conduct credit research on a portfolio of regional/local governments, government-related issuers and specialized lenders.

Key Responsibilities:
*  Assume lead analytical responsibility for a portfolio of regional and local governments as well as related entities located in several countries in Northern Europe.
*  Additionally, assist more senior staff in the analysis of a broader portfolio of government credits.
*  Monitor economic trends and developments, analyze government financial statements, monitor financial market activities, analyze credit quality using both quantitative and qualitative methods, and accumulate in-depth knowledge of the government sector in these countries.
*  Maintain close relationships with issuers, investors and intermediaries.
*  Prepare rating committee materials and recommendations.
*  Produce written research.
*  Some public speaking and travel would be required. 
 

Qualifications

*  Strong academic background is required; graduate degree or equivalent; preferably in Economics, or International Relations; Finance; International Business and/or Public Administration are also acceptable
*  Previous experience in public finance or relevant credit research experience essential
*  Previous experience within Banking beneficial
*  Understanding of European banking sector regulations required.
*  Strong MS Office skills; principally Excel, Word and PowerPoint
*  Excellent organisational, communication and writing skills
*  Good quantitative skills
*  Financial/statistical research capabilities.
*  English language essential. Additionally, one of the us following languages would be beneficial: Dutch or German.
