Associate Director
Responsibilities
The Associate Director, Systems and Data Analyst for the Northeastern Fund (TNF), reports to the Director of TNF and plays an integral team role in planning, coordinating, and producing annual giving solicitations and stewardship in order to develop effective financial support and a giving pipeline for the University from alumni, students, parents, friends and faculty/staff. Solicitations and stewardship include direct mail, telemarketing, broadcast email/eNewsletters, Web sites and online giving forms, cultivation, personal solicitations and volunteer structures as well as thank you letters, events, and recognition programs.
As part of the team delivering a comprehensive annual giving program in order to increase support and participation for the University, the data analyst specific responsibilities will support (1) developing and implementing a sophisticated data and segmentation plan under the direction of the Director of TNF in order to acquire, renew, and upgrade donors, (2) implementing strategies to maximize data capture and accuracy; (3) providing annual giving analysis and reports to the Director of TNF and the Vice President of Alumni Relations and the Northeastern Annual Fund as well as providing recommendations based on project outcomes; (4) serve as the liaison to Finance, IT and DIS as it pertains to data integrity and systems issues; (5) provide support and training for all TNF/OAR systems users to ensure a high quality product; (6) and other duties as assigned.
The Associate Director must be able to represent the University and the TNF team in a professional, enthusiastic manner with a customer service and team focus. Evening and weekend work required as needs dictate. Other duties as assigned include assisting at several Alumni Relations and Northeastern Fund events throughout the year.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree a plus. Four to six years of experience in development, preferably in higher education. Requires demonstrated experience in MS Access, Excel, SQL Programming and Visual Basic for Applications. Experience with Business Intelligence Reporting tools (specifically Oracle Discover) preferred. Must be able to work in support of Higher Education, specifically fundraising operations. Experience with Salesforce a plus. Must have excellent management, organizational, communications (written and oral), interpersonal, public speaking and computer skills; Detail oriented; High level of self-confidence and enthusiasm; Ability to be a self-starter; Strong customer service focus; Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with alumni, volunteers, students, staff, faculty, vendors and external entities; Ability to work independently and in a team environment on several projects at a time; Experience working in higher education a plus.
