Associate Director
The Risk Management Group is an independent, centralized unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. Risk Management Group personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed.
PURPOSE OF ROLE
As Macquarie continues to grow in North America, the Group seeks a talented individual to join the Risk Management Credit team in Houston. Working as part of high profile team who deal extensively with senior management; your ability and proven record of effectively managing and analyzing complex transactions will be key to the success of the role and our businesses.
You will be part of a team that assist in the execution and structuring of complex structured finance and derivative transactions in a deal-oriented environment
The successful candidate will ideally bring US Energy industry experience. This role will be pivotal in facilitating the development of our Energy business in North America.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in the execution, structuring and objective analysis of new complex transactions
- Ongoing dialogue with international Senior Risk Management and businesses to identify relevant key business and risk related issues and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ensuring that appropriate guidelines, procedures and approvals are in place for new products and limits, through proactive liaison with the appropriate business units and other relevant areas, including senior management in the Risk Management Group
- Oversight and development of a team of analysts
KEY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Strong track record of execution, structuring, analysis and approval of complex and diverse transactions in a fast-paced and deal-oriented environment.
- Existing knowledge of the North American market.
- Exposure to Power transactions would be beneficial
- Strong commercial orientation and understanding of business and risk-related issues
- Qualifications in finance, economics, engineering, or other quantitative disciplines, ideally with postgraduate studies
- Persuasive communication skills (both written and verbal) and confidence when being challenged
- Ability to build strong, open, dialogue-based relationships with relevant businesses, clients and colleagues
- Self-directed in an unpredictable market environment
- Pro-active, flexible and outgoing
