Project Manager – FX market transformation
The eFX Product Strategy team, within the global FX E Trading group, is responsible for managing and delivering change initiatives for the FX business.
The remit of the group relates to e-commerce, trade capture, pricing, risk management and trade life-cycle aspects of the front-to-bank business process.
There is the need for a project manager to facilitate, manage and deliver a number of key projects within the FX market transformation programme.
This programme covers initiatives related to regulatory reform across the FX industry including execution, clearing and trade reporting. The programme is foremost concerned with meeting new regulatory obligations but also aims to take advantage of opportunities presented by regulatory reform for UBS and its clients.
The role involves interaction with many stakeholders across the bank including trading, sales, business management, IT, data, on-boarding, legal, compliance, operations, finance and control functions. It also includes participation and UBS representation in external industry forums and working groups related to regulatory change.
The primary function of the role is to ensure timely and effective delivery of regulatory business requirements, the majority of which are global in nature. This includes analysing new requirements, writing business requirement documentation, priority setting, and managing and coordinating delivery across all groups required to implement the requirements.
Key areas of focus for this role include:
- Lead projects and activities related to regulatory change across the FX business area. This includes producing business requirements, facilitating workshops, project planning, running project meetings and testing delivered solutions.
- Partner with IT, data, on-boarding, business management and operations to manage and facilitate the full project lifecycle – requirement analysis, design, build, test and implementation.
- Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the project lifecycle to ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet or exceed expectations. Balance scope, schedule, quality and risks. Make adjustments as necessary. Regularly update sponsors on status of projects at stakeholder steering meetings
- Manage relationships and coordinate work between cross functional teams, potentially in different locations.
- Ensure that the end product fulfils the sponsor's expectations
- Ad hoc issue management and resolution
Essential:
- Track record of success in leading change projects
- Investment Banking experience (other Finance service sector experience maybe considered)
Desirable:
- FX knowledge
- Financial regulation knowledge
- Formal Finance, Business or Banking Education
- Candidate will require strong communication (oral and written), presentation and interpersonal skills in order to liaise with members of the organisation at all levels.
- Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
- Ability to react in a rapidly changing environment and continue to deliver results by identifying the best course of action for all relevant stakeholder groups
- Extremely driven and strong desire to deliver results despite challenges and constraints
- Need for strong analytical skills, logical analysis and conceptual thinking
- Ability to manage key client relationships and build productive working relationships
- Candidate must be flexible enough to undertake a variety of assignments, primarily around those identified, but potentially others as needs dictate
