Associate Director Enterprise Risk Management recruitment
The Associate Director will lead the continued development and evolution of CME Group's Enterprise Risk Management program.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the evolution, alignment, and sustainment of sound risk management practices across the organization.
- Leading efforts to update and mature CME Group’s framework and practices for acknowledging and managing risks that could materially impact the organization’s ability to achieve its financial, strategic, and operational objectives.
- Leading and managing the Risk Management Team (“RMT”). The RMT is a cross-functional committee consisting of senior leaders from CME Group divisions that meets regularly to identify, discuss, address, and monitor enterprise-relevant risks.
- Further developing tools and processes for identifying, quantifying, prioritizing and acting on risks.
- Assessing key business risks and ensuring their representation and inclusion in ERM processes.
- Leading the process to ensure that risk management strategies are developed and metrics established for key business risks.
- Generating the quarterly Enterprise Risk Profile Report that is provided to the Management Team, Audit Committee and the Board of Directors through collaboration with management and the Risk Management Team.
- Overseeing other special projects and strategic initiatives that ERM becomes involved in.
- Leading the organization’s efforts on enterprise risk management, which includes educating and working with the Board, Board Audit Committee, executive leadership, the Management Team, and additional layers of management as appropriate to build and enhance risk management awareness, capabilities, processes, and tools.
- Providing counsel to senior leadership and management on the risks and uncertainties associated with existing operations and strategy as well as new ventures, opportunities, and new strategies.
- Representing CME Group ERM capabilities to external stakeholders including regulators, rating agencies and statutory auditors.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, at least 3 years in leading a program of similar complexity.
- MBA from a leading institution.
- Experience performing quantitative and qualitative analysis on a wide-range of issues and decisions.
- Experience characterizing, evaluating, measuring, and managing risks / uncertainties.
- Ability to frame and evaluate complex issues quickly, then apply sound practices to form strategies for addressing
- Exceptional ability to evaluate and understand issues from a wide array of perspectives, including operational, financial, and strategic.
- Experience considering and embedding uncertainties into decision recommendations.
- Significant experience interacting with executives and board members.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated success in creating value by leveraging cross functional resources.
- Ability to lead diverse view-points towards robust risk management conclusions and solutions.
Preferred:
- Financial services or high technology experience.
