The University operates a broad professional shared service structure whereby financial services are provided to divisions under a “distributed services” model. This role forms an integral part of the senior management team of the Business School.
As Associate Director Finance for the Division of Business, you will support one of the largest teaching faculties in the university with approximately 330 FTE staff, student load of 6000 and gross revenues of $170 million, thereby contributing significantly to the University’s financial performance.
In this role, you will provide high level strategic and financial advice, performance analysis and support to the Finance Director, Dean, Pro Dean/s, Associate Deans, Chairs of academic disciplines, Directors of Centres and Foundation/s and Heads of administration units. You will provide insightful business and financial performance analysis and management reporting, financial process improvement and change management support. The role ensures an effective and value added finance service is provided to the portfolio and provides effective staff leadership and management of the finance team.
To be successful in this position you will possess:
- a degree in accounting, finance, business or commerce and membership with a recognised professional accounting body (e.g. CA, CPA or international equivalent)
- extensive experience in financial management and reporting (Strategic Plan, Budget, Actual, Forecast etc) in an organisation of medium to large size and complexity
- knowledge of and experience in using large enterprise wide financial packages such as PeopleSoft or Oracle and business performance management reporting systems such as Oracle / Hyperion
- the ability to initiate and effectively implement change and continuous improvement in or reengineering of business and financial management processes
- strong leadership, people management and development experience
- significant relationship management and change management experience.

Remuneration package: a competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications (including base salary and up to 17% superannuation) will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
